Mobile Belt & Hose Service in San Diego
Belts and hoses are some of the cheapest parts in your engine bay — and some of the most dangerous when they fail. A snapped serpentine belt strands you. A burst coolant hose overheats the engine. Alan Martinez left us a review after we came out in 30 minutes when he could not get his serpentine belt back on. Whether it is preventive replacement or an emergency, we handle it on-site.

The Best Belts & Hoses in San Diego
Serpentine Belt Replacement
Cracked, glazed, or squealing belts replaced with quality OE-equivalent parts. Most jobs take 30 to 45 minutes.
Timing Belt Inspection
If your vehicle uses a timing belt, we inspect for wear and recommend replacement before it breaks. Timing belt failures can destroy an engine.
Cooling & Vacuum Hoses
Upper and lower radiator hoses, heater hoses, vacuum lines — replaced with proper clamps and fresh coolant where needed.
Tensioner & Idler Service
A new belt on a tired tensioner does not last. We inspect and replace pulleys and tensioners when they show wear.

What You Need to Know
Belts and hoses are wear items that almost never get inspected until they fail. A serpentine belt costs $30-$60 and runs the alternator, water pump, power steering, and AC. When it snaps, you lose all of those at once — usually on a freeway, miles from home. Hoses are even sneakier: they look fine from the outside until the inside delaminates and the hose collapses or bursts.
How to Spot a Belt or Hose Going Bad
Belt warning signs: a squeal that gets worse when you turn the wheel or turn on the AC, visible cracks across the ribs, glazing (shiny instead of matte), or chunks missing. Hose warning signs: bulging or soft spots, weeping at the clamps, white crusty residue (dried coolant), or a hose that feels rock-hard instead of slightly flexible. If you open the hood once a month and squeeze the upper radiator hose when cold, you will catch most failures before they strand you.
The Job On-Site
Serpentine belt: release the tensioner, route the new belt per the diagram, release the tensioner back. 30 to 45 minutes on most cars. We check tensioner and idler pulleys at the same time — a wobbling pulley will chew up a new belt in 5,000 miles. Hoses: drain coolant to below the hose, pop the clamps, replace, refill, bleed. Upper radiator hose is usually 30 minutes; lower hose can take longer if access is tight. Timing belts are a bigger job — 3 to 5 hours and we usually do water pump and tensioner at the same time.
Price and Time
Serpentine belt: $120-$220 installed. Tensioner add-on: $150-$300. Radiator hose: $140-$280 installed including coolant. Timing belt with water pump: $700-$1,400 depending on vehicle. We give a firm price after seeing it. If your hoses are going, the radiator and cooling system is worth a full once-over while we are in there.

Belts & Hoses Questions, Answered
Most common questions we get about belts & hoses in San Diego.
How often should belts be replaced?
Serpentine belts: every 60,000 to 100,000 miles or when cracked. Timing belts: per manufacturer interval, usually 60,000 to 105,000 miles.
Is a broken serpentine belt an emergency?
Yes — once it breaks you lose power steering, the alternator stops charging, and the water pump may stop. We handle these as urgent calls.
Can you do a timing belt at my house?
Yes, on most vehicles. Timing belts are bigger jobs (3 to 5 hours) and we usually quote a flat rate up front.
Do you carry common belts and hoses?
We stock the most common Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Chevy, Ford, and Hyundai belts and hoses. If we do not have yours, we will pick it up locally.
How much does a mobile serpentine belt replacement cost?
Most serpentine belt jobs run $120-$220 installed. If the tensioner or idler pulley is also worn, add $150-$300. Timing belts are a much bigger job, typically $700-$1,400 with water pump and tensioner included.
My car has a timing chain — do I still need to worry?
Timing chains last much longer than belts, often the life of the engine. But chain tensioners and guides do wear, especially on certain VW, BMW, and Nissan engines. If you hear a rattle at cold start, get it checked — chain failures destroy engines.
