AC Recharge & AC System Repair at Our Kearny Mesa Shop
Recharge Done Right
We recover the old refrigerant, vacuum-pull the system, then recharge by weight to OE spec. Not a guess from a can at the parts store.
Leak Detection
UV dye, electronic sniffer, and pressure tests to find where the system is leaking before we add refrigerant that will just leak right back out.
Compressor Replacement
Failed compressor? We replace the compressor, condenser if needed, and flush the lines so debris does not kill the new one.
R-1234yf or R-134a
We handle both the older R-134a systems and the newer R-1234yf systems found on most cars built after 2017.

Why AC needs a real shop
Doing AC right means recovering the old refrigerant (which is regulated by the EPA), pulling a deep vacuum on the system to remove moisture, then charging the exact correct weight of refrigerant. That takes a real AC machine and gauges, not a can with a trigger. The Kearny Mesa shop has the right equipment.
The parts-store can will not save your AC
Those DIY refrigerant cans almost always overcharge the system. An overcharged AC actually cools worse than a correctly-charged one — and overcharging can damage the compressor. If you have used a can already, tell us, and we will recover what is in the system and start fresh.
Leaks matter more than refills
If your AC needs a recharge, it almost always means something is leaking — refrigerant does not just disappear from a sealed system. We find and fix the leak before we recharge. Otherwise you are buying refrigerant twice. Want a primer on related cooling-system issues that can also affect AC performance at idle? See our radiator and cooling system service.

AC Recharge & AC System Repair Questions
The most common questions we hear about ac recharge & ac system repair in San Diego.
Where can I get my AC recharged in Kearny Mesa?
Right here at 7898 Ostrow St. We do recover-vacuum-recharge service the proper way — not the parts-store can with the trigger gauge that overcharges most systems.
Why does my AC blow warm only at idle?
Usually a sign of a weak compressor, a clogged condenser, or a failing cooling fan. We diagnose all three on the lift.
Will AC stop-leak fix my system?
We do not recommend it. Stop-leak products can clog the system, the compressor, and even damage AC service equipment. Better to find the actual leak and fix it.
How much does an AC recharge cost in San Diego?
Depends on whether your system is R-134a or R-1234yf — the newer R-1234yf refrigerant is much more expensive. We quote the recharge after a quick check, and only do it once we know the system can hold a charge.
How long does AC repair take?
A clean recharge with no leak repair is usually same-day. A compressor replacement is typically 1 to 2 days depending on parts.
