In-Shop Brake Repair in Kearny Mesa, San Diego
Most brake jobs we do at your driveway with the mobile side. But some — seized calipers, stuck rear drums, brake-line replacement, big-truck dual-rear-wheel setups, ABS module diagnostics — need a real shop lift and shop power tools. That is what the Kearny Mesa shop is for.

In-Shop Brake Jobs at Our Kearny Mesa Shop
Lift-Required Brake Jobs
Rear drums on older trucks, dual-rear-wheel rigs, anything where you really need the car in the air for hours.
Seized Calipers & Bleed-Stuck Lines
When calipers are seized or bleeders snap off, we drill and tap on the shop bench instead of trying to limp it on a driveway.
Brake Line & Hose Replacement
Rusted brake lines, cracked rubber flex hoses — replace and bleed on the lift with a pressure bleeder.
ABS Diagnostics
ABS light on? Pedal pulsing weird? We scan, test wheel-speed sensors, and diagnose the module on the shop scan tool.
Drop-Off Process
From check-in to keys back — what happens at the shop.

All four corners, lines, hoses, master cylinder, ABS scan if needed.

Written quote before any major parts. You approve, we order.

Repair and test drive
New pads/rotors/calipers/lines as needed, bled properly with a pressure bleeder, test drive, then pickup.
Mobile vs shop, on brakes specifically
A clean front pad-and-rotor job on a modern car is the perfect mobile job — we do those all day at your driveway with the mobile brake service. But the moment a caliper is seized, a bleeder snaps, the rear has drums, or the ABS light is on, the job gets long and messy. That is when we bring it to the shop instead. The general guide is at mobile vs shop.
Why a pressure bleeder matters
Pumping the brake pedal to bleed brakes works, but it pushes old fluid through the master cylinder in a way that can damage the seals on a high-mile car. A real pressure bleeder pushes clean fluid through from the reservoir without abusing the master. We use one on every shop brake job.
Heavy-duty truck brakes
Big trucks have big brakes — heavier rotors, larger calipers, sometimes dual-rear-wheel setups. Doing those right means a real lift, not jack stands. If you have a 3/4-ton or 1-ton, bring it in.

In-Shop Brake Jobs Questions
The most common questions we hear about in-shop brake jobs in San Diego.
Why bring brakes to the shop instead of mobile?
For standard front pad-and-rotor jobs, mobile is great — see our mobile brake service. For seized calipers, ABS module issues, hydraulic line replacement, big-truck brakes, or anything that needs hours on a lift with a pressure bleeder, the shop is the right place.
How long does a brake job take at the shop?
Standard pads and rotors are about 1 to 2 hours per axle. Caliper replacement with bleeding adds another hour. Full brake-line replacement or ABS diagnosis can be a full day.
My brake pedal goes to the floor — is that fixable?
Yes. Usually it is a brake fluid leak (master cylinder, line, hose, or caliper) or a failed master cylinder. We diagnose on the lift before quoting.
ABS light is on. Is it safe to drive?
The regular brakes still work, but ABS is offline, so emergency stops can be worse. Get it scanned soon. We can do that as part of a shop visit.
Do you do brakes on heavy-duty trucks?
Yes — F-250/350, RAM 2500/3500, dual-rear-wheel rigs. The shop lift handles them.
