Tire Mounting, Balancing & Rotation at Our Kearny Mesa Shop
Mount & Balance
Bring your own tires or have them shipped to us. We dismount the old, mount the new, and dynamic-balance each wheel.
Tire Rotation
Front-to-rear, cross, or directional rotation pattern based on your vehicle and tire type. Done on the lift, torqued to spec.
Flat Repair
Proper plug-and-patch from the inside of the tire. We do not just shove a plug in from the outside — that fails.
TPMS Reset
Tire pressure monitor sensors checked and relearned when needed after a rotation or new tires.
Drop-Off Process
From check-in to keys back — what happens at the shop.
- 1
Schedule a drop-off
Call ahead with your tire size and quantity, especially if you are having tires shipped to us.
- 2
Dismount old, mount new
On the tire machine. We protect the wheels and replace the valve stems with new ones.
- 3
Balance and torque
Each wheel spin-balanced. Lug nuts torqued to spec, not run on with an impact and hoped for the best.
- 4
Drive away
Most tire jobs are 60 to 90 minutes from check-in to keys back.
Why tire work needs a real shop
Mounting a tire takes a tire machine that breaks the bead and slides the tire on and off the rim without damaging either. Balancing takes a spin balancer. Neither of those is portable. This is the kind of work the Kearny Mesa shop was built for. For comparison, brake or battery work is perfect for the mobile side — see mobile vs shop.
Buying tires somewhere else? No problem
A lot of customers find a better deal on tires online (Tire Rack, SimpleTire, Discount Tire Direct). Have them shipped here and we mount and balance for a flat per-tire fee. You save money on the tires, we do the work right.
Rotations matter more than people think
Most front-wheel-drive cars eat their front tires faster than the rears. Rotating every 5,000 to 7,500 miles evens out the wear and stretches the tire life by thousands of miles. Easy money saved. If you bring your vehicle by for an oil change with the mobile side, we can plan a rotation at the shop on the same week.

Tire Mounting, Balancing & Rotation Questions
The most common questions we hear about tire mounting, balancing & rotation in San Diego.
Can I bring my own tires?
Yes. Many customers buy tires online and have them shipped to us, or bring them in their trunk. We charge a flat mount-and-balance fee per tire. Call for current pricing.
How often should I rotate my tires?
Every 5,000 to 7,500 miles is the standard recommendation. A lot of people just rotate at every other oil change and call it good. We can do it at the same visit as an oil-related job.
Can you repair a flat in San Diego?
Yes, if the puncture is in the tread and not in the sidewall or shoulder. Proper repairs are a plug-and-patch combo from the inside of the tire. We dismount, inspect the inner liner, patch, then remount and balance.
Do I need an alignment after new tires?
Not always required, but smart. New tires reveal an alignment problem you did not feel before, and a bad alignment will chew the new ones up. See our wheel alignment service if you want to bundle.
Run-flats and low-profile tires?
Yes — we handle run-flats and low-profile tires regularly. They need the right machine technique to avoid bead and rim damage.
